A homemaker in Hyderabad allegedly committed suicide after being insulted by her landlord and his wife over the noise made by her toddlers.

According to The Times of India, 28-year-old Sujata and her husband Ramakrishna lived in a rented house with their three-and-a-half-year-old son and one-and-a-half-year-old daughter in the Kukatpally area of the city.

Ramakrishna, a software engineer, had gone to a wedding in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh for the weekend. When he returned home early Monday morning, his wife did not answer the door. Assuming she was fast asleep, he went over to his brother's and called her phone again later. Worried by his calls going unanswered, Ramakrishna went over with his relatives, broke open the door and discovered Sujata hanging by a cable.

Sujata reportedly left four suicide notes in the form of graffiti on the walls and door of the apartment, accusing the landlord Prasanna Kumar and his wife Snehalata of harassing her over the din made by her children.

"I cannot put up with the humiliation and that is why I am doing this," she allegedly wrote in one of the notes, accusing the house owner and his wife of assaulting her.

The police have registered a case under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code against Prasanna Kumar and Snehalata, both of who have left the house since learning about Sujata's suicide.
