Xiaomi's diversification into new product lines continues with the launch of a new Bluetooth headset aimed at sports and fitness enthusiasts. The Mi Sports Bluetooth Headset has an IPx4 rating which means that it is water and sweat resistant.

The headphones are stylish even though at first glance they might look a bit stocky. However, they weigh just 17.8 grams. The left and right parts are connected by a wire that goes behind the wearer's neck, which seems to be the new design standard for Bluetooth wireless headphones. In fact, some companies are making just the wires to connect Apple's Airpods.

The headphones work on Bluetooth 4.1 and connect to a device in less than 3 seconds. Additionally, they can connect to two devices simultaneously. The Mi Sports Bluetooth Headset has a 110 mAh battery with fast charging support that will last for close to 7 hours according to Xiaomi.

The headphones have a built-in MEMS microphone for clear quality calls, along with volume control and an action button.

The headset will be available in China from 11 November for 149 RMB, which converts to ₹1,470.

With many companies now ditching the headphone jack, manufacturers are likely to focus on making better quality wireless headphones. In 2016, Apple, Motorola and LeEco have all removed the 3.5 jack from their phones.

Xiaomi recently also unveiled its new budget series smartphones, Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Xiaomi Redmi 4A in China.Best Bluetooth Sport Headphones
