Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, who commenced on his 'Vikas Rath Yatra' on Thursday morning, could not continue for very long as the red Mercedes bus in which he was travelling broke down.
The CM's high-tech 'rath' or 'chariot' broke down after covering a distance of barely one kilometre, agencies reported.

Amid the ongoing rift in the Samajwadi Party, party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav had flagged off his son Akhilesh Yadav's rath yatra this morning.
"I want to thank Mulayam Singh Yadav for flagging off the event. This election will change national politics and we are confident to form the government," Akhilesh reportedly said.
Shivpal Singh Yadav, the Chief Minister's uncle who has had strong political differences with him of late, was also present at the event. "Akhilesh ko hum shubhkamna detey hain (I wish him well)," he said.
Akhilesh Yadav is scheduled to cover a distance of 100 kilometres in Lucknow and neighbouring areas on the first day of his tour.
