Prime Minister Narendra Modi is known for his fashion sense. A New York Times blog on fashion once noted how "Mr. Modi stands out. Literally and strategically." NYT noted that after Nehru and his eponymous jacket, Modi is possibly the only Indian leader with his trademark costume, the popular Modi kurta. The blog aptly called a "revisionist version of the classic Indian tunic shirt".

Now, Modi is inspiring other world leaders too.

An image, shared by the Prime Minister, from the BRICS Summit has gone viral.

It shows the leaders of the BRICS countries - South African President Jacob Zuma, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Brazilian President Michel Temer along with Modi wearing white kurtas, teamed with colourful cotton jackets.

Naturally, the photo went viral.

The leaders had met to have an informal dinner outside the BRICS Dome at the Hotel Taj Exotica, against the backdrop of the beautiful Cavelossim beach in south Goa, nearly 55 kms from Panaji. The Summit kicked off on Sunday.

They say imitation is the best form of flattery. We are wondering if the Prime Minister had an impact just on the leaders' fashion sense, or otherwise too.
