A new trailer for the upcoming Hollywood action movie xXx: Return of Xander Cage was uploaded online late on Sunday night.
The promo, which seems to have been cut specifically for Indian audiences, shows plenty of footage featuring Deepika Padukone, who is making her Hollywood debut here. It almost seems like a direct response to fans who were upset that a previous teaser trailer had featured the actress for just a few seconds.
Many have already commented on the fact that Padukone is heard speaking English with her natural Indian accent over adopting an American accent to appeal to audiences in the US, contributing to a normalisation of Indian accents in general (as a heroic lead character rather than stereotypical roles such as shopkeeper, scientist, and cab driver).
Starring Vin Diesel, Samuel L Jackson, Ruby Rose, Nina Dobrev, Toni Collette, and Donnie Yen, the action flick is slated to release in many parts of the world on January 20, 2017.
