After Tiger, Max and Sultan, Caesar, the last of the surviving canine heroes of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, died yesterday of a heart attack in a farmhouse in Virar.
Mumbai Police, as well as its commissioner, tweeted out the news of the 11-year-old Labrador Retriever's death, bidding the brave dog an emotional farewell.

During the terror attacks in Mumbai in November 2008, Caesar had saved many lives by sniffing out two hand grenades left by the terrorists at the busy CST railway station. At the time, he was also part of the team that searched Nariman House, where terrorists hiding away for three days.
In 2006 and 2011, Caesar had worked with the bomb-search operation after serial blasts rocked the city in two incidents. Since retirement, he had been living a quiet life with his buddies, each of whom died this year.
Since the death of Tiger on 23 July, Caesar went into depression. He already had trouble walking due to arthritis, a common affliction with his breed, but also developed high fever, after which he was admitted to Bombay Society for Prevention of Cruelty Against Animals (BSPCA).
Although his condition improved briefly, he died of a heart attack on Thursday. Tributes poured in on social media once the news was made public.
