This could be termed one of the most dramatic hijacks in the country.

Two men managed to steal 950 iPhones, worth Rs 2.5 crore, from a truck carrying a consignment of the phones near Vasant Kunj in south Delhi on Tuesday. Their weapon was--a pack chili powder.

However, the police have nabbed the robbers within 48 hours of the incident and recovered all the iPhones.

The accused have been identified as Mehtab Alam, 24, and Arman, 22, both residents of Mahipalpur.

Kalam Singh, the man who was driving the truck carrying iPhones, approached the Vasant Kunj (south) police station, and told them about the robbery. He was driving from Okhla to Dwarka when someone threw a packet containing a red powder into his truck's cabin.

He presumed it to be a prank by children, but soon felt his eyes and skin smarting, reports Times Of India.

A few minutes later, the two, held the truck driver captive before robbing the mobile phones near Rajokri flyover, Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Ishwar Singh told reporters.

They were joined by two others--Bhola and Pradeep.

"During investigation it was found that two robbers -- Bhola and Pradeep -- were the former drivers of the truck, and had left their jobs two weeks ago," Singh said.
