Two suspected gangsters have reportedly been killed in an encounter with the police near Hyderabad, Telangana.
According to a report in The New Indian Express, former naxalite and gangster Nayeem was reportedly one of them.

Security forces have been deployed to Shadnagar's Millennium Township area and one house has reportedly been surrounded by the police.
The Times of India has speculated that since the National Investigation Agency (NIA) isn't involved, the encounter may not have involved terrorists.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said it was a serious matter that the security forces were engaging with the militants.
