To mark the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, Twitter has launched an adorable emoji of the elephant-headed god. The emoji will be active during the entire duration of the ten-day festival, from September 4 to 16.
The emoji, which shows a red-coloured Ganesha, will appear when you tweet using #HappyGaneshChaturthi, as well as #Ganesh, #GaneshChaturthi, #GanpattiBappaMorya and #Ganeshotsav in both Hindi and English.

Over the last year, the social media platform has introduced a series of India-specific emojis to mark major festivals and events. Last November, it launched its first-ever emoji for Diwali in the form of a traditional lamp or diya. In the past, Twitter has also introduced customised emojis for Independence Day, Republic Day, the Pro Kabaddi League and the International Day of Yoga. Here's how people are using the new emoji.
